In 2014, Canada was Israel’s 21st trade partner with commercial ties (import + export) amounting to ~$1.05B.
Israel’s main exports to Canada include hi-tech and software products (including telecommunications, metal products, diamonds, chemical products, pharmaceuticals, aircraft parts and plastic). Most Israeli export to Canada centers in Quebec and Ontario, where the majority of Canada’s population lives.
Canada and Israel have entered a free trade agreement (CIFTA) in 1997. Since then, mutual trade has tripled. In addition, there are other agreements between the countries (federal), supporting various commercial aspects, such as the Canada-Israel Industrial Research & Development Foundation CIIRD-F (1994), the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation in Private Sector Industrial Research and Development (2004) and more.
